Appointed Person Course - Lifting Operations

The CPCS A61 Appointed Person course takes 5 days. This includes theory and practical training and testing.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, before testing can commence, you must pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test for Managers and Professionals.

Due to the nature of this course, it does not require any personal protective equipment.  

If you do not achieve the theory or practical test, we will do our best to re-book at a reduced rate. This will depend on whether you need theory or practical testing.

The CPCS Red Card is valid for 2 years. Once this expires, you can choose to upgrade to a CPCS Blue Card, valid 5 years.

The CPCS Appointed Person Course is not designed to be easy. However, our 5-day novice course is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to pass.

CPCS Red Cards are a great way to to show employers that you have the skills and knowledge required to do the job. This can be earned through completion of our appointed person courses.

Appointed Persons earn an average of £24K – £36K per year, according to Glassdoor.

To upgrade your CPCS card from Red to Blue you will need to complete the Level 5 NVQ for appointed person. However, this can only be completed once you have had experience within the job role.
