Course Description

CPCS Crawler (Tractor/Dozer) training is designed to help you become a qualified crawler (tractor/dozer) operator.

Choose between our novice and experienced training courses, based on your current operating experience.

Those who pass the CPCS theory and practical tests will achieve a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card, valid for two years.

Eligibility Criteria

Before attending this course, you must have passed the CITB Health and Safety Test for Operatives within the past 2 years. This can be completed at our Wokingham centre for £60+VAT.

Learning Outcomes

Describe the nature of the sector of industry and their role and responsibilities as a plant operator.
Name & explain the purpose of principal components, controls & terminology.
Conform with manufacturer requirements and relevant regulations/legislation. Undertake all pre-use checks.
Operate the machine safely and efficiently.

Activity Instructions

Complete all manufacturers' pre-start and running checks. Prepare the dozer for travel.

Travel to the work area and: travel up and down the slope, pass through a restriction, and travel over rough terrain.

Prepare and set the dozer for the relevant work.

Produce a straight trench to the specified dimensions and form a stockpile.

Side cast material from the embankment to the specified dimensions.

Park the dozer and carry out shut-down and securing procedures.
