Entry Requirements

You must have passed the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test within the last 2 years.

Certification

Upon successful completion, you will receive a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card.

Novice compact crane training is ideal for beginners. The course covers all the basics in theory and practical training.

This course requires the following personal protective equipment:

  • High visibility jacket
  • Safety boots
  • Hard hat

If you do not achieve the theory or practical test, we will do our best to re-book at a reduced rate.

Novice compact crane training takes 4 days. This includes theory and practical training and testing.

The CPCS Red Card is valid for 2 years. Once this expires, you can choose to upgrade to a CPCS Blue Card, valid 5 years.

Compact cranes are simply miniature cranes. This makes them ideal for lifting operations that take place within confined spaces, where a larger crane would otherwise not fit.

CPCS is one of the most widely recognised plant qualification schemes in the UK. Therefore, having a CPCS Card can significantly increase your career opportunities. Most UK construction sites will require employees to hold formal qualifications for the machines they operate.
