Course Description

NPORS Telehandler courses equip you with the skills and knowledge to operate Telescopic Handlers.

Courses are flexible, with the ability to be completed either at our training centres or on your worksite.

Choose from novice, refresher or experienced worker tests. Pass the theory and practical tests to achieve an NPORS Card.

Learning Outcomes

Operate a 360° excavator safely and efficiently in line with industry best practice
Understand operator responsibilities, site safety requirements, and relevant health and safety legislation
Identify the main machine components, controls, indicators, and safety features
Carry out pre-use inspections and operational checks in accordance with manufacturer guidance
Prepare the excavator for work, including safe start-up, travel, and shutdown procedures
Perform excavation, grading, loading, and backfilling operations accurately and efficiently
Position and manoeuvre the machine safely in a variety of site conditions and working environments
Assess ground conditions, site hazards, and exclusion zones to maintain a safe work area
Understand the capabilities, limitations, and safe operating parameters of the excavator
Carry out routine maintenance checks and report defects in line with company procedures

Certification

Traditional Card

NPORS Traditional Cards are for industry sectors other than construction. These are valid for 3 or 5 years, based on your requirements.

Trained Operator Card

NPORS Trained Operator Cards are designed for the construction sector. These display the CSCS logo and are valid for 2 years. To get this card, you must have passed the CITB Health and Safety Test within the last 2 years.
