NPORS Excavator Training equip you with the skills and knowledge to operate excavators.

Courses are flexible and can be completed either at our training centres or on your worksite.

Choose from novice, refresher or experienced worker tests. Pass the theory and practical tests to achieve an NPORS Card.

Learning Outcomes

Operate a 360° excavator safely and efficiently in accordance with industry best practice
Understand operator responsibilities, site safety requirements, and relevant health and safety legislation
Identify the main machine components, controls, indicators, and safety features
Carry out pre-use inspections and operational checks in line with manufacturer and legislative requirements
Prepare the excavator for travel and work activities across a range of site conditions
Perform excavation tasks safely and accurately in accordance with job specifications
Load materials into transport vehicles, containers, and hoppers while maintaining safe working practices
Grade, spread, and level ground to the required standards following excavation work
Fit, remove, and safely use excavator attachments and buckets
Carry out end-of-shift maintenance, shutdown, and machine security procedures

Certification

Traditional Card

NPORS Traditional Cards are for industry sectors other than construction. These are valid for 3 or 5 years, based on your requirements.

Trained Operator Card

NPORS Trained Operator Cards are designed for the construction sector. These display the CSCS logo and are valid for 2 years. To get this card, you must have passed the CITB Health and Safety Test within the last 2 years.
