CPCS Loader Securer Training Courses are designed for those responsible for safely loading, positioning, and securing plant machinery onto transport vehicles. Pass theory and practical testing to earn a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card.

Learning Outcomes

Understand the role and responsibilities of a loader securer and comply with relevant health and safety legislation
Identify different types of transportersused for loading, unloading, and securing plant
Carry out pre-use checks on the transporter, identify defects, and ensure equipment is safe and compliant before use
Prepare and position the transporter and loading area, assessing ground conditions, stability, access, and hazards
Load, unload and correctly position a range of tracked, wheeled, and ride-on plant using safe operating procedures
Select suitable securing and restraining equipment, ensuring loads are positioned safely and secured
Understand load distribution, axle loadings, height restrictions, and other factors affecting safe transportation
Understand road traffic act requirements, including route planning, escort requirements, and highway procedures
Recognise and manage hazards including working at height, traffic, ground conditions, and loading risks
Carry out safe shutdown, parking, stowage, and securing procedures

Entry Requirements

You must have passed the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test within the last 2 years.

Certification

Upon successful completion, you will receive a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card.

Can beginners take this course?

Novice loader securer training is ideal for beginners. The course covers all the basics in theory and practical training.

What PPE do I need?

This course requires the following personal protective equipment:

High visibility jacket
Safety boots
Hard hat
Work gloves

What happens if I fail?

If you do not achieve the theory or practical test, we will do our best to re-book at a reduced rate.

How long does the course take?

Novice loader securer training takes 4 days. This includes theory and practical training and testing.

How long is the CPCS card valid?

The CPCS Red Card is valid for 2 years. Once this expires, you can choose to upgrade to a CPCS Blue Card, valid 5 years.
