SSSTS Course

Course Description

SSSTS stands for the Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme. This is part of the CITB Site Safety Plus suite, which covers health, safety and environmental awareness.

The course covers all relevant legislation which affects safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment, control measures, and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce.

The SSSTS course is endorsed by Build UK and exceeds the standard set for construction supervisor training.

Learning Objectives

  • Supervise health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions and within the context of their role
  • Develop an understanding of responsibility and accountability for site health, safety and welfare of workers on site
  • Recognise that a safe site is efficient, economical, productive and environmentally friendly

2 Days

Exact duration will depend on whether you complete the course in-person or online.

Mutiple-Choice

You will need to score at least 24 out of 30 marks.

Certificate Expiry

5 years

You will need to complete the refresher course before your certificate expires, or the full course will need to be retaken.

Frequently Asked Questions

SSSTS is a 2-day course designed for site supervisors, whereas SMSTS is a 5-day course designed for site managers. 

There are no entry requirements for the SMSTS course. However, you should hold or be about to hold the tole of a site manager.

No, the SSSTS course is not overly difficult. The course will teach you everything you need to know to pass.
