Learning Outcomes

Be able to manoeuvre it safely across varying terrain in open and restricted spaces suitable to the machine and its operational duties.
Be able to demonstrate their practical ability of different working environments for safe travel.
Know and understand the safety precaution and risks of loading and transporting material.
Be able to manoeuvre the machine to work area and correctly configure in readiness to carry our excavating tasks.

Be able to carry out activities including trench digging, demonstrating capabilities of retrieving material and their understanding of stockpile safety.
Be able to deposit material onto transporting vehicle, container or processing plant depending on their working environment.
Be able to reinstate the ground following excavation.
Be able to level and grade the material.

Be able to use the excavator to lift, move and place a slung load.
Know and understand the types of attachments suitable for use with this machine, storage and transport of implements and attachments.
Know and understand the need to have suitable risk assessments and SOPs onsite where site specific attachments are being used.
Be able to where necessary, correctly and safely check, attach, detach and use attachments suitable to the equipment and operation.
