Course Description

CPCS Articulated Dump Truck Training gives you the skills and knowledge to safely operate articulated dump trucks.

Choose between our Novice and Experienced courses, based on your current ability.

Pass the theory and practical tests to achieve a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card.

You must have passed the CITB Health and Safety Test within the last 2 years.

Activity Instructions

Complete pre-start and running checks. Prepare dump truck for travel.

Travel up and down the slope. Stop and start on the gradient.

Reverse up and down the slop for a minimum of meters.

Drive through a restriction. Travel over rough terrain.

Reverse in a straight line for 50 meters. Pass through a restriction.

Position the dump truck for loading.

Establish communication with the loading operator.

Receive a load which fills the body to capacity.

Discharge the loads over the edge or into an excavation.

Form a stockpile. Clean out the body fully.

Park the dump truck. Carry out shut down and securing.
