Course Description

CPCS Agricultural Tractor Training gives you the skills and knowledge to safely operate agricultural tractors.

Choose between our Novice and Experienced courses, based on your current ability.

Pass the theory and practical tests to achieve a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card.

Eligibility Criteria

You must have passed the CITB Health and Safety Test within the last 2 years.

Activity Instructions

Complete pre-start and running checks. Prepare the tractor for travel.

Travel up and down slopes. Travel over rough terrain.

Stop and start on an incline. Carry out sharp right and left turns.

Reverse into a confined space. Position the tractor for work.

Attach and disconnect the trailer within a confided space.

Attach the 3-point linkage implement.

Connect the PTO driven implement. Detach the PTO driveline.

Park the tractor. Carry out shut-down and securing procedures.

You can legally drive a tractor from the age of 16. However, you will be restricted to tractors and tow trailers up to 2.45 metres wide. From age 17, these restrictions do not apply.
