Course Description

CPCS Wheeled Loading Shovel Training gives you the skills and knowledge to safely operate wheeled loading shovels.

Choose between our Novice and Experienced courses, based on your current ability.

Pass the theory and practical tests to achieve a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card.

You must have passed the CITB Health and Safety Test within the last 2 years.

Activity Instructions

Complete pre-start and running checks. Prepare the machine for travel.

Travel up and down slopes. Stop and start on the gradient.

Travel over rough terrain. Reverse through a restriction.

Prepare and set the loading shovel for relevant work.

Create an upward ramp using material from the bank.

Load material into a vehicle.

Clean and tidy the work area. Park the loading shovel.

Carry out shut-down and securing procedures.
