The CSCS Green Card is an entry-level qualification used to access construction sites for manual labour tasks.
The card is for Labourers, not those in skilled occupations.
Many employers require labourers to hold this card to ensure they have a basic understanding of safety on-site.
Step 1: Pass the CITB Health and Safety Test for Operatives.
Step 2: Complete the Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment.
Step 3: Apply for your CSCS Green Card online or let us apply on your behalf for a small convenience fee.
Complete our 1-day CSCS Green Card Course at our Wokingham training centre for just £260+VAT.
Important Notice
From February 1st 2025, the validity of first-time CSCS Green Cards will reduce from 5 years to 2 years. After this initial card expires, you will be able to renew your card for the usual 5 years. Please note that anyone looking to apply for or renew their card after this date will need to provide evidence that they are currently employed as a labourer.
The CITB Health and Safety Test is made up of 50 multiple-choice questions and lasts up to 45 minutes.
To pass the test you must achieve at least 45 out of 50.
The Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment is made up of two components:
Step 1: Written portfolio questions
Step 2: Multiple-choice test (50 questions)
As long as you have completed the Level 1 Award, you can simply apply for card renewal after re-completing the CITB Health and Safety Test for Operatives.
Once you have achieved your CSCS Green Card, you may choose to progress into a skilled occupation.
